I'm Wes Maebe, a freelance recording, mixing and mastering engineer based in West London, working with both unsigned and established artists.
I have my own mastering room with some great gear. As I’m Belgian, if you attend your mastering session, you’ll always get really great coffee! I can mix here too.
For recording projects, I have excellent relationships with studios of various sizes and prices, both in the UK and Europe.
I've made live recordings of The Kooks, The Buzzcocks and Cat Stevens amongst others, including pianist Alfred Brendel. I've worked in some of London’s greatest studios including RAK, Sarm West and British Grove. I’ve recorded and mixed for artists like Alexandra Burke, Elliott Randall, Melanie C, Beverly Knight, Praying Mantis and New Model Army. I’ve had the pleasure of working with producers like Garth Richardson, Elliott Randall and Paul O’Duffy.
I’ve mastered more than 100 albums in the last couple of years for everyone from Sex Pistol Glen Matlock to Fairport Convention, Stiff Little Fingers and New Model Army.
I’ve worked as a front of house engineer in over 300 venues and festivals all over Europe, and toured with artists as varied as Sting, Chaka Khan, Hugh Cornwell, Specimen, and Deborah Bonham.
