PLASA 08, hosted by the events division of the Professional Lighting and Sound Association, will be held at London’s Earl’s Court 1 and 2 from September 7th-10th. Below is a list of booths to check out during the show.
Funktion-One – Booth G45
The company will be showing the latest in its Resolution Series of loudspeakers, the R1.5, which is a two-way enclosure with 90-degree dispersion, high fidelity and low frequency for its size. It will also display the RM18 tri-axial stage monitor. With an ultra-fast 18-inch driver, 5-inch coil and Neodymium magnet, the RM18 has a unique five-inch driver that includes a built-in HF compression driver.
Sennheiser - Booth G23
The K-Array range of loudspeakers and power modules will be displayed at its booth, along with Sennheiser’s own MKE-1 super miniature lapel mic, SR 350 professional IEM system and the EM 3732 pro twin radio mic receiver. Klein + Hummel’s new Installed Sound range of loudspeakers; Rane Corporation’s products for fixed installation, live sound and the DJ market, Powersoft’s K3 amps; Apart’s networking preamps and source equipment; DAS Audio’s ARCO and ARTEC and additions to the Reference Series of loud speakers will all be on show along with the Fostex NetCIRA line of digital audio distribution and management solutions.
JHS – Booth E62
Its booth will feature products from the company’s pro audio line, including HK Audio’s Cohedra and Compact Cohedra line arrays. It will also feature Lab.gruppen’s FP6000QSP and FP10000QSP Touring Amplifiers, LA Audio’s line of pro audio gear and accessories, Allen & Heath’s ZED and PA mixers, as well as Get Yourself Connected and Neutrik Cables.
Allen & Heath – Booth E16
New offline editing software for the iLive digital mixing system will be unveiled, as well as new consoles from the ZED range, models from the Xone range of DJ products, the ML VCA Series, GL multi-purpose range, WZ compact range and PA powered and unpowered mixers and the iDR installation series.
Yamaha Commercial Audio - Booth H39
The company will be showing an extensive range of audio solutions for live SR, touring, installation, broadcast and post applications. Yamaha’s products will include mixing consoles, network interfaces, signal processors, installation and touring-class amplifiers, AV solutions and speakers.
Shure – Booth E29
Visitors will see the Sound Devices 788T field production eight-channel digital audio recorder, QSC’s GX amps, Radial’s Phaser guitar amp direct box, Shure’s own Countryman Earset and Micro-Lavalier microphones and UR1M Micro-Bodypack Transmitter plus a wide range of Prime Acoustics’ acoustic foam.
RCF - Booth D47
The Easy Line ES 3160, its new digital receiver amplifier will be shown as will its ART-7 Series and additions to the acustica range, including a new 400W two-way bass reflex speaker, the 300W two-way sound column and the 800W subwoofer. It will also present the NX series, which is designed for everything from home install to live touring.
RSG – Booth K49
A new Version 1.5 software for its V-Mixing system will be displayed, which includes added features like increased flexibility in Compressor and Gate assignment, eight additional matrices, direct channel output assignment for use with mixing systems and recording splits, tap tempo for delay settings, additional features for faster access and rapid setup and added user interface enhancements.
Alcons Audio - Booth L29
Hosted by the newly formed Alcons UK, the company will introduce the LR7, the latest and smallest member of its pro-ribbon line array, with a single 6.5-inch woofer coupled with a four-inch pro ribbon driver in a 15-degree vertical projection configuration. The Digital Drive Processor exchangeable processing device from its ALC amplified loudspeaker controllers and the LR14 ultra-compact line-array system will also be on show.
KV2 – Booth H47
The KX Audio line designed for the MI sector will be shown at KV2’s booth. With a combination of strong output, power handling, control and the lowest distortion levels available, the KX line features dedicated speakers for a wide range of applications.
VMB – Booth J63
Its new Lynx Series F6 of small-format powered line array modules with a built-in inclinometer will be on display. The series features two six-inch transducers with Nomex suspensions, which enables the driver to maintain optimum performance despite extreme temperatures and extended use. It also features an integrated 1500 W amplifier, folded ribbon transducer for high frequencies, 0.5ms latency digital processing and networking capabilities.
Soundcraft – Booth D22
The company will introduce the brand new analogue conscious Si3 digital live sound console. The all-in-one 64 input Si3 features four stereo inputs 24 bus outputs, eight matrix outputs, 12 VCAs, eight mute groups, on board dynamics, four-band parametric eq, four independent Lexicon processors, dedicated output and meters for each bus and the new EMMA single board computer and DSP engine.
MC2/XTA – Booth J11
Its new Ti Series of network audio components and the first appereance of the new 2-channel, class D amplifier, the E90, will be on display. The Ti Series combines remote monitoring, configuration and control, and all five amps in the line have a dynamic range in excess of 112 dB and feature remote level, mute, standby, load/status monitoring and GPIO ports that allow ‘stand alone’ reporting of fault conditions or simple remote control of local level. With a minimum delivery of 4500W/channel into 4 ohms and 7750W/channel into two ohms, the E90 is the latest addition to the company’s highly successful E Series.
