The Music Producers Guild (UK) and pro-audio company Universal Audio have joined forces to offer the MPG’s full members preferential pricing on a wide range of Universal Audio analog hardware and UAD-2 DSP accelerators.
To launch the new relationship, Universal Audio’s UK distributor Source Distribution recently hosted an informal evening for MPG Full members at HHB Communications in London. This gave members an opportunity to meet Universal Audio’s Jed Allen and find out more about the company and its products.
During the evening, Source Distribution’s UA specialist Chas Levin demonstrated UA’s analogue hardware and the new UAD2 Satellite FireWire products. He also showed the latest UAD plug-ins, the Lexicon 224, Brainworx bx digital V2 EQ and the SPL Vitalizer MK2-T, which were all first shown this month at the Frankfurt Musik Messe.
Producer and MPG director Andrew Hunt, who was responsible for forging the association with Universal Audio, said: "It's an unbelievable deal, I'm a huge fan of UA products, I use them in every session. You only have to hear the plugins to tell just how good they are. The discount on nearly every item easily covers your entire full membership subscription, so it's great all round.”
Howard Jones, director of Source Distribution, added: “We’re always seeking to forge closer ties with the key players in the UK recording industry, and the MPG membership are precisely the type of professionals that we’d love to see using UA products – so it’s a natural fit for all concerned.”
