Dynacord launches PowerMate 600-3 mixer

The lightweight PowerMate 600-3

Dynacord's latest mixer is designed for use across all professional applications in need of maximum power over a small number of channels.

New addition to family of mixing consoles

German pro audio specialist Dynacord has announced the launch of it PowerMate 600-3, the latest addition to its family of mixing consoles.

Designed for use across all professional applications in which few channels yet high amplifier output are required, the PowerMate 600-3 supplies a total output of more than 2.000 watts despite weighing in at nine kilos.

The feature set of the new mixer is built to include low-noise and low-hum, electronically balanced XLR microphone inputs (particularly low THD, typically <0.002 per cent), stereo line channels, digital audio interface (USB port), PC-MIDI interface and a master section designed to the needs of day-to-day practice that features a nine-band master stereo equaliser.

The Class-D stereo power amplifier delivers an output of 2 x 1.000 watts RMS (into four ohms) and has Dynacord's protection package on board. Furthermore, the Speaker Protection technology is aimed at allowing operationally safe adjustment of the continuous power output of the PowerMate's power amplifiers to the speakers connected. Meanwhile, through dynamic limiting of the maximum power at the output, loudspeaker damage through thermal overload can be avoided without having to sacrifice the wide dynamic range of the power amplifiers.

"With the 'small' eight-channel PowerMate, we are responding to an oft-expressed wish of our customers," said Dynacord's senior product manager, Martin Traut. "As is the case with all the PowerMates, even in this ultra-compact system every function group meets the highest concert sound requirements."

Please see below for a detailed breakdown of the PowerMate 600-3’s essential components:

Mixer
Featuring a professionally equipped live mixer with eight channel strips, the PowerMate 600-3 includes a low-noise microphone preamp, a low-cut filer and nine-band master stereo equaliser, each of which are intended to provide optimum sound performance. An integrated 4 x I/0 USB 2.0 audio interface achieves semi-professional studio quality, rendering the device suitable for both live and studio recording, as well as for playback of recordings and interval music. The OLED display is tailored to offer optimised user comfort in any environment.

Power Amplifier
The Class-D amplifier, which meets professional standards, delivers 2 x 1.000 watts RMS (into four ohms). Despite its power, the device is designed to provide high efficiency at reduced thermal losses and power consumption. Its power management technology allows for individual adjustment to the speakers used (even those with modest power handling capacities) whilst retaining the dynamic range of the power amplifiers. It also features the protective circuitry found in all Dynacord power amplifiers.

Effects and processing menu
The PowerMate 600-3 comes with an extensive effects section for both live and studio requirements: two independent, programmable effects processors, two 100 live-optimised factory presets, 2 x 20 user memories, LPN filter and speaker protection. Furthermore, it includes remote control (via MIDI), tap delay, USB configuration and a large, contrast-rich OLED display.

The PowerMate 600-3 is delivered with a plastic lid secured by magnets. A carry bag (BAG-600PM) is also available, as is the RMK-PM600-3 mounting kit for rack installation.
