Alcons Digital Drive Processor (DPP)
SPECIFICATIONS: Converts proprietary ALC units from a ‘standard’ stereo power-amp into a dedicated amplified loudspeaker controller. Design based on a 96 kHz sample rate Delta-Sigma conversion with 27-bit word length and fixed-point internal processing, driven by a 56 bit, 120 mips DSP engine. Backlit display, USB-port.
Unit incorporates Intelligent Driver Guidance (IDG) processing; Von Helsing’s Filterslope Architecture where crossover filtering is performed with hybrid Bessel, Butterworth or Linkwitz-Riley responses; a CSQ ‘Constant & Symmetrical Q’ algorithm; and LimitLog real-time signal logging. General functions include complete Alcons systems library, input signal routing, 4-band parametric eq, delay up to 294 ms, 99 user-programmable and nameable presets, and preset recall/compare functions.
