Poor economic climate puts a stop to former EvenTech show

The Integrated Technologies Singapore, which was to be held at the Singapore Expo on July 1st and 2nd, has been cancelled.

The organisers have stated poor response from exhibitors due to ‘the prevailing economic climate’ within the industry forced the cancellation.

The show was originally launched last year as EvenTech Singapore by Scattered Media, who passed the show on to the present organisers in order to focus on its regional trade shows in Scotland and Ireland. The show was designed as a venue to host the manufactuerers and distrubutors in the Architectural Technologies, Commercial & Residential Installation, Professional Audio Video and Worship Technologies to the burgeoning Southeast Asia market.

“The global economic downturn has put the professional AV sector under unique pressure, thus creating a high level of uncertainty,” announced ITS show director Hanslee Azhar. “The continued pessimism felt amongst both international manufacturers and regional distributors has meant that many of the confirmed names ultimately could not commit to a number of exhibitions this year. Ultimately, Integrated Technologies Singapore is driven by the needs of its exhibitors, for whom many have been forced to streamline sales and cut marketing costs.”

The ITS organisers have stated that they will hold show in 2010.
