London Underground services running better than expected
Despite the threatened London Underground strike, organised by the Rail, Maritime and Transport Union, going ahead as expected from seven o’clock on the evening of June 9th, this morning’s (June 10th) tube services are running surprisingly smoothly.
Good services have been reported on the Northern Line, minor delays on the Jubilee Line and limited service on the Victoria Line. The District, Piccadilly, Metropolitan and Bakerloo Lines are all running regular shuttle services.
Transport Commissioner for Transport for London, Peter Hendy commented: “Services are currently running on more than half of London Underground lines, with good service on the Northern line and a decent service across the Jubilee line.
“Londoners and I will fully appreciate all the efforts being made by those Tube and transport staff who are working today to keep London moving.
“The picture will change constantly throughout the day and those travelling should check before they travel via the TfL website to see how Tube services are running, or take advantage of the many alternative travel options being provided by the Mayor and TfL.”
