Popular tutorials now available absolutely free on web video portal
Mixer manufacturer Soundcraft has uploaded its popular guides to sound mixing in video form on youtube.com.
Budding sound engineers, gigging bands, or anyone who would like to learn the art of mixing can now get access to tips and techniques for mixing live, absolutely free online. Previously available only on DVD, Soundcraft has published the series on its very own page, at: www.youtube.com/soundcraftuk.
The collection of 18 videos cover all the basics that a beginner needs to know, from a discussion of the mixer’s purpose, through controls, connecting equipment and setting a basic mix.
The videos then cover intermediate subjects such as eq and signal processing, the finer points of using mics and tips for the very real and daunting environment of live mixing.
To complement the video tutorials, a PDF text version may be downloaded from the company’s website, at: www.soundcraft.com. Qualified educational establishments may request printed copies of the guide, as well as the full-resolution videos on DVD.
