2009 event marks a quarter of a century of audio and acoustics sessions
The Reproduced Sound conference is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year when the event takes place in Brighton.
The conference allows consultants, manufacturers, contractors and end users to mingle and share their insight and information. This year's event, ‘The Audio Explosion', is organised by the Electroacoustics Group of the Institute of Acoustics in collaboration with ABTT, AES, APRS and ISCE and is to be held at the Thistle Hotel on November 19th – 20th.
Sam Wise, one of the organisers and chairman of the IOA Electroacoustics Group, said: “Over the last two years Reproduced Sound has raised attendance to new levels and welcomed a wider audience from the audio world, including a lot of students and more of the people who make events and installations happen. This year we expect to excel ourselves even further.”
As last year, the conference will start with a tutorial evening, open to the most penetrating questions from attendees to the experts. Last year this was held in the cave-like environment of the basement brick arches at the conference hotel.
This year, with more space, further interactivity will be possible. Those who attend will be able to learn, teach and network with some of the best in the business.
The main conference papers are once again expected to be varied. From the wildly new-edge world of interaction and games, to more theoretical papers on transducer design.
Papers on the following topics are being submitted:
Auralisation and sound art
Multi-channel sound perception, creation and coding
Room acoustics
Recording – audio and sound with images
Broadcast and download sound quality
Loudspeakers and microphones
Intelligibility, masking and spectral balance
New developments
Poster presentations
