Dutch pro-ribbon line-arrays purchased and new Ribbon Network member added
German rental company Megaforce has recently confirmed a large order of Dutch manufacturer Alcons Audio pro-ribbon line-arrays.
The purchase included 36 LR16s, 12 LR14s and one each of the ALC2 and ALC4 amplified loudspeaker controllers, all fitted with Digital Drive Processors (DDP), including all (transport and flying) logistics. Megaforce has subsequently been made the latest member of The Ribbon Network, Alcons’ global dry-hire network.
After narrowing the search down to three finalists, the company chose the Alcons arrays based partially on the minimal EQ’ing required and high gain-before-feedback of the system.
Mark Liese, MD of Megaforce, explained that the company has been very happy with the sound of the Alcons system since its first round of testing. “Alcons offers us a compact, high-resolution, full-range capable system, which we can use for almost, if not all, applications we encounter. It is absolutely convincing in terms of sound, handling and overall built-quality,” stated Liese.
Megaforce specializes in supplying audio, lighting, video and rigging equipment for corporate events. Located in southern Germany, Megahertz does a great deal of work for car industry events. With an enormous inventory of truss, stages, sound and light equipment, it is a large, full-service company.
"This substantial audio investment marks a very important step for Megaforce and we’re happy to be part of the fast-growing Alcons users network,“ continued Liese.
Torsten Hagedorn, Megaforce’s project manager Audio was also ebullient about the new system, quoting the surprisingly accurate throw this system offers.
"The first gig, featuring Nena, was staged in a 150 meter/450 foot tent for 13,000 people," he explained. "Even 100 m down the space, the stereo image was still wide and 'totally in the face'. And that in a tent!“
Carsten Albrecht, support engineer for Alcons Germany added; "I’m proud to have a strong partner like Megaforce on board and with that strategically expand our Ribbon Network in southern Germany.“
