Uli Behringer and John Oakley talk exclusively to Audio Pro and MI Pro magazines

Following the shock news earlier in December that Uli Beringer and Michael Deeb had established a new holding company in order to create an infrastructure to purchase Midas Klark Teknik, both the MI and audio worlds were in something of a shock, to say the least.

Recognising the power that the sister titles enjoy in the their respective industries, the pair decided to talk to the magazines to put their side of the story.

This interview can be read here.

In it, the two company bosses reveal how important it is to both of them that the Midas Klark Teknik brands and the Behringer brand remain as autonomous and separate as possible (thus the creation of the new holding company).

Perhaps surprisingly, John Oakley reveals how it was ultimately his choice as to which purchase offer he accepted and debunked ideas that Midas or Klark Teknik technology would be appearing in Behringer products – although R&D that takes place from now could see Behringer benefitting form Midas knowhow, while Midas, obviously wins through from the sheer investment clout that the Music Group has from its £135 million odd annual sales.

Don't forget to pick up your copies of Audio Pro International and MI Pro in February to see the full analysis and comment on this unique dialogue.
