Show feedback and numbers suggest an industry in recovery
The post-NAMM 2010 analysis has revealed statistics that would suggest the MI and pro audio industries are making a comeback after a tough year.
With a two per cent increase on last year's event, 87,569 people registered for the show and almost 1,400 exhibitors filled the halls. These included approximately 250 brand new companies – a new record in the event's history, showing a surge in market enthusiasm. Feedback also showed that exhibitors and buyers who attended the event in Anaheim earlier this month left with a general sense of optimism.
"This year's NAMM Show marks a critical turning point for the music products industry," said NAMM President and CEO Joe Lamond. “A strong NAMM Show suggests we're off to a promising start, with buyers returning to their hometowns with renewed energy, passion and hope for 2010, and exhibitors enjoying strong floor traffic and sales as they introduced hundreds of new and innovative products to the market."
