Crown International has announced that Thomas Marcher is now the company's sales director for Asia and the Pacific Rim.
The announcement was made by Scott Robbins, Crown senior vice president of worldwide sales, to whom Marcher reports.
Marcher has been in his new role since January 2. Based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Marcher is tasked with overseeing all of Crown's sales activities in a territory that spans from Pakistan and India in the northwest to New Zealand and Australia in the southeast. This will also include China, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. In addition to regularly visiting distributors, dealers, contractors and consultants throughout this region, he will also act as a liaison between the field and the Crown factory with regard to product development, large-scale sales opportunities and various marketing issues, such as international trade shows and advertising.
Marcher comes to Crown from Klotz Digital Asia, where he most recently served as managing director. Prior to that, he spent two and a half years in Bangkok, Thailand, as a sales manager for Danish Interpretation Systems, after eight years with TC Electronic, where he ultimately held the title of director of sales for Asia and Pacific.
"Although we're sad to see Jerry Stutzman go, we know that our Asia and Pacific Rim sales infrastructure and customers are in very capable hands now that Thomas is on board in Kuala Lumpur", commented Robbins. "His experience with many different nations and cultures, combined with his sharp business acumen will undoubtedly enable Crown to continue to strengthen its brand awareness and presence in this very significant market."
Marcher himself adds: "I'm really quite proud to join Crown, a company that has long been respected for its product innovation, quality and performance. I'm pleased to say that I've used Crown amps since my early days as a live sound engineer and I find it very personally rewarding to now be a part of this team. I look forward to supporting Crown's distribution network in this territory as well working closely with our fellow Harman Pro brands in seeking to provide complete system solutions for our end users."
