New regional networking event greeted by high quality attendees in Glasgow
Held at the Marriott in Glasgow, evenTech Scotland - the first in the series of regionally-focused B2B networking and educational events, organised by Scattered Media – yesterday opened its doors to a flood of high quality visitors from across Scotland and the North of England.
Exhibitors, and evenTech’s media partners, have responded with positive feedback as well as a confirmed commitment to the regional format and the programme of similar forums for the leisure hospitality industry in other countries, notably evenTech Ireland (RDS, Dublin – 18th – 19th November, 2008) and evenTech Singapore (Singapore Expo, 25th – 26th June, 2008)
Crestron Scotland’s Peter Brown reported a busy day, “We’ve spoken with quite a few new contacts – consultants and end users – there is good potential from the show”
Michael McGuigan of Dynamic Productions Ltd, exhibiting with KV2 Audio was impressed with the volume of attendees: “As a new show it has attracted a lot of visitors.”
TOA Corporation also received very positive interest from the show. Sales and Marketing director, Brett Downing commented, “the format for this show has been great for us. There’s real interest in audio and AV from the visitors – and by doing more focused events such as this we can cover more ground than going once into Europe.”
Visitors were also ebullient, with Ally Parley, technical manager at Carling Academy Glasgow, commenting that the show has been a worthwhile venture.
“As a visitor to the show it’s been reassuring to see the main people from the audio and lighting companies, who are my main suppliers, here at the show. It’s clear to see the right people are here and are able to see exhibitors they would usually have to travel Europe to see.”
In summing up, Scattered Media’s Darren Brechin commented, “Our initial ideas for the format of the show have now been realised through the positive response from our exhibitors and the calibre of the vistitors. Our pre-show emphasis on delivering a unique qualified audience has proved itself through the quality of registrations and attendees on day one. The success of today has reaffirmed our belief in the need for dedicated regional networking forums.”

We were pleasantly surprised at how many quality exhibitors were there and we have made some terrific contacts - It's a long time until Plasa and we have the need of some extra kit before then. Let's hope it's an annual event.
