Yamaha appoint Nick Cook as Pan-European Marketing Director

New position aims to harmonise marketing across the territory

Yamaha Commercial Audio has announced the appointment of Nick Cook to a Pan -European director level position with a brief to devise and implement coordinated Commercial Audio marketing activities throughout the entire European region.

The newly created position builds on the continuing growth and success of the Commercial Audio business in Europe and reflects Yamaha ambitions to increase their presence in emerging markets. The promotion also acknowledges the increasing strategic importance of Europe and the consequent need to harmonize marketing activity, communications and establish efficient working practices across all the subsidiaries.

Throughout the two year period that Cook has overseen the UK commercial audio business it has experienced dramatic growth in both it's core markets and the newly developing installation systems sectors.

He comments, "As our business expands in Europe we need to align our marketing and support activities and ensure that we can effectively manage that growth in the coming years. Yamaha has a huge amount of talented audio professionals within our EU subsidiaries and we now need to capitalize on their best practices for the benefit of all our EU CA customers. "Yamaha may be a global brand and a market leader in the Commercial Audio sector but our continuing success depends on our local support services. It will be a key objective of mine to ensure that this Global support and local service philosophy is developed and becomes an increasingly important and valuable aspect of our business strategy"

Cook will be based at the European Commercial Audio Support Centre in London and will be joined by a number of other CA marketing staff previously working out of Yamaha Music Holdings Europe in Hamburg.

Yamaha have also announced that Pro music sales and marketing director Richard Hodgson will now adopt a more hands-on role in UK Commercial Audio operational affairs and that regional manager Gianni Abruzzese is now promoted to the position of UK CA sales manager with immediate effect.
