JZ microphones unveils a third microphone in its Black Hole series
In order to improve the series of Black Hole microphones and provide a wider selection for its customers, JZ has launched the third version of the Black Hole mic with a changeable -5db and -10db pad.
The new microphone, named Black Hole PE (BH-3), has a fixed cardioid polar pattern, but, after numerous requests from engineers, it has added the changeable pad option, which is used to avoid overloading mic preamps with high output mic signals when recording loud guitar amplifiers or cabinets and kick drums. The capsule of the Black Hole can handle 135db SPL, which can manage an operatic soprano at close range. Visually it looks similar to the previous two versions (BH-1 – multi pattern, BH-2 – fixed cardioid mic) in a dark green colour.
Together with the new BH-3, JZ Microphones also launched a new shock mount and pop filter system for the microphone. The new shock mount, designed in a vintage style placed on elastic rubber bands, is devised for use where a stand holder is not enough to handle all sonic interference. The package also includes a revolutionary pop filter with a curved cone shape that reduces blasts and blows better than any other pop filter on the market.
“We are always looking to satisfy our customers; therefore, we are willing to hear any suggestions or new idea they have,” said microphone designer Juris Zarins. “We have received several good suggestions from different users and have included some of them in this new product.”
