London facility looks to Scrub for Television studio

With productions moving as required between highly resourced facilities in London and New York, Goldcrest Post is uniquely positioned to provide sound mixing facilities to clients in the worlds of both film and television.

A recent addition to the London facility is The Television Studio, a newly created surround sound television mixing suite based around a 32-fader ICON D-Control with Pro Tools HD3, supplied by Digidesign post specialists Scrub, a division of HHB.

“Fantastic value for money and reliability have made Pro Tools the industry standard”, comments Keith Williams, CEO of Goldcrest Post London and New York. “The system gives us great flexibility in The Television Studio, which we have already used for pre-mixing and ADR on major features, as well as for television mixing.”

Goldcrest’s choice of Scrub as a supplier came down to the basics. “Ben Nemes (Scrub Director of Sales) is very professional and helpful, and we were confident in Scrub’s ability to deliver good products and service at realistic prices”, says Williams. “Scrub are the absolute experts in their field and were responsive to our needs throughout.”

The addition of the new Television Studio takes the studio count at Goldcrest’s London facility to five surround sound rooms, complementing the full service High Definition and 2K picture and sound facilities in New York.

Commenting on behalf of Scrub, Ben Nemes says “Goldcrest have an international reputation for great work at the high end, so naturally we were delighted to be asked to work with them on creating a new mixing space around ICON technology”.
