Neumann celebrates 80 years

80th anniversary marked with illustrations and on-line competition
Heralded as 'the voice of music history', Berlin-based Georg Neumann GmbH is currently celebrating its 80th anniversary.
The rich worldwide musical heritage, which runs from Bryan Adams, right through to Frank Zappa, has placed the company at the forefront of recording technology and this is reflected in the anniversary celebrations.
Each decade has its great stars and big hits. The majority were produced using Neumann products. This has inspired the company to bring music history back to life with a special series of illustrations. From the swinging 50s, all through the colourful 70s and into modern times, these illustrations reflect the innovation, reliability and quality represented by the firm.
Alongside the celebrations, Wolfgang Fraissinet (President Marketing/Sales at Neumann Berlin) has announced an online competition, which he says will put "knowledge about music history to the test."
Questions will be based around decades, running from the 50s through to the modern day, with the main prizes being three brand new TLM 67 microphones.
