SCL-1 Solid-State Compressor heads three new products for US-based manufacturer
Amsterdam - Sharing a stand with its Netherlands-based distributor, Helios Recording & Broadcast, CharterOak Acoustic Devices is showing three new products, led by the SCL-1 Solid State Compressor/Limiter.
Released under the CharterOak Entertainment Group brand. The proprietary unit made by CharterOak Entertainment Group for its subsidiary studio and multimedia companies Studio.45, and CharterOak Multimedia will begin shipping in June of 2008.
The unit employs all discreet electronics and is capable of providing a constant output level regardless of input level or frequency, without the familiar pumping inherent in most compressor/limiters. The unit delivers extremely fast attack times without overcompensation, and a release characteristic, which is a function of dynamic range and average program level.
Also new at AES, the M900-T microphone employs the same cardioid, hyper-cardioid, and omni capsules used with popular M900 Transformerless Small Diaphragm Condenser. However, the M900-T combines these capsules with a vacuum tube head amplifier and custom output transformer. It is excellent in situations where flat frequency response, excellent transient response, and robust and detailed sound are required. The microphone ships in a locking metal flight case with shock mount, wind sock, custom power supply and lifetime warranty.
The final new product on show is the CharterOak Small Studio Collection, which is described as 'the total microphone solution for small recording studios with a tight budget.'
Consisting of a SA538 Large Diaphragm Condenser, the E700 Solid State condenser and a sequentially numbered matched pair of M900s, the collection is designed to tackle any recording situation from vocals to orchestra to loud electric guitars. The collection is shipped with a solid-locking flight case with all of the necessary accessories and a lifetime warranty.
