Britannia Row provides sound support for star-studded event
World leaders, stars and the public, celebrated Nelson Mandela's 90th Birthday with a special concert held in London's Hyde Park on June 27 to raise funds for the 46664 charity, named after Mandela's prison number in South Africa.
The event, which also marked the 20th Anniversary of a concert held in his honour at London's Wembley Stadium, was headlined by Queen, with performances by Simple Minds, Zucherro, Leona Lewis, Sugababes, Eddy Grant and a host of African artists.
The event also featured a speech by Mr Mandela (pictured), making what may well be his last public appearance, and was hosted by Will Smith alongside Annie Lennox.
Sound for the event was provided by UK production firm, Britannia Row, which utilised an L-Acoustics V-DOSC system for the main system, with EV X-Array delays and Turbosound Aspect on the stage right fill.
A full article on this historic event will appear in the next edition of Audio Pro.
