Al Schmitt and Alan Meyerson add the Bricasti Model 7 reverb to their mix
Bricasti Design, manufacturers of the Model 7 Stereo Reverb Processor, has announced that more and more top producers are firmly behind their new reverb.
The latest names to sign up are scoring mixer Alan Meyerson, who opted for not one but six units and Grammy Award winning Al Schmitt (pictured) who selected one for his recent Capital Studio sessions with Natalie Cole.
“The M7’s clarity and ease of use are outstanding,” states Schmitt. “On muted brass, trumpets and vocals, in particular, the Model 7 is unmatchable. For me, it’s a major breakthrough!” The upcoming CD project, tentatively entitled Unforgettable II, is scheduled for release in August.
Schmitt’s first experience with the Model 7 came during tracking sessions with Natalie Cole. “I had borrowed a unit to try out on the dates. I liked the reverb processor so much that I ended up purchasing one for myself. An external reverb like the Bricasti Model 7 is perfect for the way I work. I can quickly store and recall settings via the user-friendly front-panel layout.”
“Sure, plug-ins are okay,” offers prolific music-scoring mixer Alan Meyerson,” but I need a world-class external reverb for creating realistic-sounding ambiences and reverberant spaces for my motion-picture soundtracks. As soon as I heard the new Bricasti Model 7 I knew that I had found what I was looking for. I’m so impressed with this powerful unit that I ended up purchasing six. They sound amazing!”
Meyerson specified a total of six Model 7 Stereo Reverb Processors because of a need to prepare separate 5.1-channel surround sound for the movie soundtracks on which he works.
“I might use, for example, three units on string elements and another three on brass: the first Model 7 for left and center, the second for right and center, and the third for surrounds. And for conventional stereo sessions, I might need to prepare as many as six separate stems," adds Meyerson
