Profimusik supply Alcons pro-ribbon line array for Hamburg show
James Taylor recently performed in Hamburg, Germany with sound supplied by local firm Profimusik, who specified an Alcons pro-ribbon line-array system for the concert.
The American folksinger/songwriter James Taylor appeared at the Hamburger Laieszhalle with his One Man Band featuring Larry Goldings accompanying him on piano and keyboards.
The five-time Grammy winner has a career spanning almost 40 years and is currently taking his “One Man Band” tour across Europe.
The Alcons system deployed by Profimusik in Hamburg consisted of six LR16s per side, with a futher six LR14 enclosures deployed as an underhang. All were powered and controlled by proprietary ALC2 and DDP processing. Bass was handled by a single BF302MK2 per side with powered by an ALC6 with DDP processing. As stage-lip fill for the first few rows, four SR9 enclosures, again with ALC2 and DDP came into play.
According to Alcons, both engineer David Morgan and James’ crew were extremely happy with the system sound. Or to quote a visitor: “Super! I’ve never heard such a good sound during a concert. It is perhaps not that difficult to obtain with just one voice and two instruments, but it was striking how cleanly, powerful and clear his voice and instruments came over.”
