The aging pop legend used TL Audio's Ebony A2 stereo processor for his Pyramid Stage set
When news that Mum's favourite crooner Neil Diamond, was scheduled to perform at Glastonbury in tandem with Jay-Z, it seemed that this year’s festival was going to be a complete flop. News of failing ticket sales and a general malaise toward the event seemingly doomed the festival before the fist note was even struck.
The early skepticism was certainly blown straight out of the water when the legendary Diamond took the stage to cracked out hits like Forever In Blue Jeans and Sweet Caroline. Amongst the gear supporting his solid gold vocals was the Ebony A2.
The A2 was used to to insert a bit of analogue warmth to the digital signal projected to his Pyramid Stage audience. Diamond’s FOH engineer, Bernie Becker, commented: “We inserted the [Ebony A2] on the outputs of the DM1000 before Neil’s transmitter for his belt pack. The A2 really did the trick… the compressor worked really well with the adverse levels we threw at it and the tube stage and EQ really shined.”
