Peter May will fill the position at Sennheiser UK
Sennheiser UK has announced the addition of Peter May as its new sales and marketing director. May joins Sennheiser from a ten-year post as channel sales director for Philips.
"I'll be working with the sales and marketing teams to build on the good work that's being done already to grow the business in a structured manner," explained May. "There's a really good bunch of people here at Sennheiser. They're all passionate about the product and they have some great customers. That's already clear to me.”
May’s experience dealing with mass-market merchants like Argos, Tesco, Costco, Asda and John Lewis will be intrigrual in creating new relationships for Sennheiser.
"My experience with Philips is with many different commercial channels. It's a good match for what [Sennheiser UK general manager] Phil Massey is looking for in terms of developing the business," May explained.
"My arrival provides an opportunity for Phil to have a broader look at the business and allow me to get stuck into sales and marketing," continued May.
"I'm going to focus on delivering excellent products and service to all the accounts we’re working with. The economic climate isn't great right now, but what's good about Sennheiser is that we have several routes to market, and not all of those are going to be as affected by the economic downturn as others. What's already encouraging is that despite the current climate, Sennheiser's consumer products are still doing well and still growing."
General Manager Phil Massey is also excited about May’s addition to the company. He stated: "Peter May is a great addition to the Sennheiser team. I'm looking forward to working closely with him and continuing to increase Sennheiser's market share in all aspects of our business. With Peter's experience and reputation, I'm absolutely confident that that's exactly what will happen. We're delighted to have him here."
