Glasgow-based UK distributor adds another brand to its expanding audio portfolio
Following the recent announcements of the addition of Sabine and WORK to its product portfolio, CUK Audio has announced its appointment as the UK distributor for Media Technology Systems Inc. (MTSi).
With headquarters in Westlake Village, California, MTSi provides products and solutions for installed sound, paging and communications.
“MTSi is a genuinely innovative new brand”, commented CUK Audio MD, Stuart Thomson, “using and developing new technology to provide flexible, cost-effective solutions. The company was formed by some very talented individuals with long experience in the industry and it shows through in the unique range of products. Being in at the start of MTSi in the UK is a great opportunity and we will be working hard to ensure that it becomes the major brand it has the potential to be”.
Ian Stott, MTSi VP Marketing, is also enthusiastic about the appointment, “The UK is a key market for any brand in Europe and in CUK I believe we have a company with the right balance of experience, enthusiasm and future vision. These are very complementary to our own ideals and I’m looking forward to working with Stuart and the team at CUK”.
The MTSi range of audio products includes several ranges of multi channel power amplifiers, from basic 2- to 8-channel 100-volt (PAG) and low impedance units (AV), though to the sophisticated COM and SI amplifiers, which are supplied with a multi-drop serial port for control and monitoring of all amplifier parameters, including signal, temperature, fault and load monitoring.
In addition they feature a 100 baseTx Ethernet port providing Telnet access to the amplifier control and monitoring capability, as well as a CobraNet® port for audio transport. These ranges also have an optional 100MIPS or DSP processing, including mixing, equalisation, compressors, duckers, filters, etc.
In addition to this MTSi offers the ION series wall mount input plates enabling conversion from analogue audio to a LAN / CobraNet to take place at the wall. This eliminates long lines of analogue audio cable between a conventional passive wall plate and the nearest control room rack. The solution eliminates complex rack patch bays, as patching can easily be achieved by changing the network address of each ion wall interface. The final group of products being ZONE – a unique, powerful and cost effective Ethernet based paging system.
CUK Audio will launch MTSi to the UK at PLASA08 on stand D57, along with products from Audica Professional, Community Professional Loudspeakers, Digigram, DIS Danish Interpretation Systems, InOut Digital, KIND Audio, Sabine and Work. A further distribution deal will be announced at the show.
