P1000Fe series launched as SM family grows
Beyma has launched a new series of low frequency loudspeakers along with an addition to its SM range of compression drivers.
In the P1000Fe series, Beyma has introduced two low frequency new models that take advantage of the research and technology employed to develop the P1200Nd and P1000Nd models, but using a Ferrite magnetic system.
The manufacturer’s aim was to offer the latest benefits and improvements of its high power Neodymium drivers, while keeping the products in a competitive price range. The new P1000Fe loudspeakers will be introduced in two sizes, 18-inch and 15-inch.
The speakers use low power compression made possible by the use of a forced convection mechanism based on the evacuation of the hot air near the voice coil.
Specification is as follows:
High sensitivity (>97 dB @ 2.83V)
1000 W AES power handling
Low resonant frequency (< 39 Hz)
Extended and controlled excursion (Xmax ± 7.5mm)
Mechanical displacement capability: 1.9” Xpp (48 mm)
Weather resistant paper cone, with fibres for rigidity
Beyma mechanical mirror suspension system (MMSS)
Beyma double conex spider technology (DCS)
Beyma Duo technology 4” voice coil
Beyma’s new SMC65 1.4” high quality compression driver features a ferrite magnet, edge-wound aluminium ribbon voice coil and a composite diaphragm assembly. The mylar surround provides damping and avoids typical resonant peaks of metal surrounds, while the pure titanium dome exhibits unique mechanical properties, resulting in an accurate response.
General specification is as follows:
Throat diameter: 1.4”/36 mm
Power capacity: 50w AES above 800 Hz/70w AES over 1.5 kHz
Program power: 100w above 800 Hz or 140w above 1.5 kHz
Sensitivity: 107 dB 1w @ 1m
Frequency range: 0.7 to 18 kHz
