API's top ten news stories of 2012

As the new year gets underway, we're taking a look back on the year that was, and reveal the most popular news articles on API from the past 12 months.

Leading the list is the unveiling of Soundcraft's Si Performer console series, ahead of other major product launches, interviews with big names in the audio industry, as well as a few surprises.

1. Soundcraft launches Si Performer range with integrated DMX

The Harman brand broke new ground in the world of digital audio mixing consoles back in August with the introduction of its Si Performer range (pictured) – a new group of mixers with integrated DMX functionality, allowing the user to control the lighting rig.

2. Infocomm 2012: Music Group acquires Turbosound

The parent company of Midas, Klark Teknik, Behringer and Bugera expanded its brand portfolio significantly in June by purchasing the British loudspeaker manufacturer.

7. 2012 OLYMPICS: Electro-Voice EVH Series installed at Olympic Stadium

Over 100 EVH hornloaded co-axial speakers from the company's Innovation Series were installed in the 80,000-capacity venue prior to the Games.
