DAS Audio boosts F1 European GP events

In celebration of the Formula 1 European Grand Prix, the Spanish city of Valencia hosted a number of special events to welcome the world’s biggest motorsport spectacular, with DAS Audio providing sound reinforcement at a number of the events, as well as across the Valencia Street Circuit itself.

In the days prior to the F1 European Grand Prix, Scudería Ferrari’s main sponsor Banco Santander threw a private party for members of the ‘prancing horse’ team, directors and other invited guests. The event was held at a restaurant between the dunes of Valencia’s Playa del Saler, with sound reinforcement being handled by local experts Sonilight, S.L., who specified DAS Audio systems for the event.

Sonilight technicians deployed DAS’ powered Avant systems, using eight stand-mounted DAS Avant 15A systems throughout the venue. The systems took care of the sound for the different speakers at the event, including speeches by Banco Santander president Emilio Botín and Fernando Alonso, Ferrari driver and two time F1 world champion.

The three-day European Grand Prix 2012 included pre-event training, the classification round and the race itself, for which technicians opted for self-powered DAS Aero 12A line array systems to bring the sound to the stands. In total, over 70 DAS Aero 12A systems were distributed throughout the stands set up along the over 5km circuit, as well as in front of the grandstand opposite the pit at the finish line.

Having handled sound reinforcement for the 2011 European GP, Acústica once again took care of audio across the event, with the company’s technicians reporting optimum coverage and performance across the different areas of the circuit.
