DAS Audio powers Manowar at Gods of Metal festival

Heavy metal group Manowar were bolstered by DAS Audio’s Aero Series 2 at their recent Gods of Metal festival perfromance.

The festival celebrated its 15th anniversary this year at the Arena Concerti fairgrounds in Milan, Italy, and brought names as big as Manowar, Guns N’ Roses, Motley Crue and Slash. Manowar’s appearance marked the American bands return to Italy after a ten-year absence.

The DAS systems at Gods of Metal were used exclusively by Manowar. German sound company Soundart headed the sound equipment supply and set up Manowar’s Gods of Metal performance. Known as the world’s loudest band, Manowar required Soundart to put together a DAS system that would meet the band’s distinct need for power, clarity and versatility.

Sound technicians brought out 32 large-format DAS Aero 50 line arrays for the event. These three-way systems were flown in a typical left/right configuration, 16 modules on each side of the stage at a height of ten metres, guaranteeing excellent sound coverage for the entire audience. Technicians also set up 36 powered DAS LX-218CA subwoofers for bass support. Manowar’s standard sound set-up consisted of a left/right configuration of 18 units each ground-stacked to either side of the stage.
