Finalists for Shure and Snow Patrol's remix competition revealed

Shure and UK band Snow Patrol have announced the shortlist of finalists in their Fallen Empires remix competition.

Last year, entrants were supplied with the mix stems for the title track on Fallen Empires, Snow Patrol’s 2011 album, and were required to create their own remixes in any musical style.

The band members will now select a Bronze, Silver and Gold winner from the 20 finalists. The three winners will receive vouchers exchangeable for Shure equipment up to a first prize value of 1,500 Euros – the Silver winner’s voucher is worth 1,000 Euros, the Bronze 500.

“We’ve been delighted with the response to this competition,” said Paul Crognale, Shure's marketing manager. “We’ve had over 600 entrants from all over Europe, in styles ranging from classical and acoustic to dubstep and full-on techno, and we’ve logged over 100,000 listens of the track.

"It has taken over two weeks at the Shure office to properly listen to and judge the submissions – the general quality was extremely high, which made the task much more difficult – but after much hard listening, we have whittled them down to 20 of the very best. Now it’s over to Snow Patrol for the final judgement.”

A list of all 20 finalists – with their remixed tracks in full – can be found here. The three winning remixes will be announced on the same website no later than Friday February 15th 2013.
