Glastonbury triumphs at UK Festival Awards
The awards for the UK’s best festivals were announced at a special event ceremony on Thursday, October 30th at the 02 Indigo in London.

Known as the Oscars of the festival world, Virtual has been producing the awards since 2004 to recognize the organizers and artists involved in the UK festival scene.

Over twenty awards were given in categories ranging from best major festival and most memorable moment to best toilets. The nominees were voted online by festivalgoers who are then entered in a competition to win free tickets to one of next year’s events.

To level the playing field festival votes were weighted by event capacity, giving smaller festivals the same chance as larger events.

Grass Roots Festival Award: Belladrum tartan Heart Festival
Family Festival Award: Larmer Tree Festival
Greener Festival Award: Waveform Festival
Best Toilets: The Big Chill
Yourope Award for Best European Festival: Oxegen
Best Headline Act: Kings of Leon
Festival Rock Act: Biffy Clyro (pictured above)
Best Dance Act: The Prodigy
Festival Pop Act: The Ting Tings
Festival Feel-Good Act: The Mighty Boosh
Best Urban Act: Dizzee Rascal
Best Newcomer Award: The Ting Tings
Anthem of The Summer: The Ting Tings “That's No my name”
Innovation Award: Stanton Callings: Hosted the UK’s First Festival Underwater dance arena in a swimming pool
Most Memorable Moment: Jay-Z Mocked Noel Gallagher with a rendition of Oasis’ Wonderwall at Glastonbury
