Mississippi-based pro audio manufacturer Crest Audio is to use the InfoComm 2012 event to showcase its new CLh range of power amplifiers.
The new range will be led by the CLh 5000 and CLh 2500 models. Both will feature the ultra-high efficiency amplifier output circuit which allows Crest Audio to reduce the weight of the tech while also increasing the power output, reliability and thermal efficiency.
The CLh 5000 and 2500—which both weigh only 13 lbs (5.9 kgs)—are both servo controlled class-D power amps which deliver high power through two channels to balanced outputs. According to Crest Audio, this ensures the ultimate standard of common-mode noise cancellation.
The flagship CLh 5000 produces 2,500 watts per channel continuous at 70.7 volts. Similarly, the CLh 2500 provides 1,250 watts per channel continuous at 70.7 volts. Crest Audio also explain that a 100 volt export model will also be available.
Both models include Crest Audio’s exclusive ACL (Active Clip Limiting) technology. This automatically reduces gain at the onset of clipping. In turn this prevents amplifier and load damage. Additional features include a lightweight switch-mode power supply, remote turn-on, sequential turn-on and a switchable, built-in low-cut filter.Article continues below
The CLh 5000 and 2500—which ate backed by Crest Audio’s five-year warranty—will be available to buyers from Q4 2012 from authorised Crest Audio dealers.
You can see Crest Audio at InfoComm 2012 in the Las Vegas Convention Center between June 13th and 15th in Booth C10319.
