The company gave special guests a sneak peak at the K-Array line at PLASA08, but waited until this week to make the official announcement.
The K-Array line of loudspeakers and amplifiers are manufactured in Florence, Italy. The company's range of loudspeakers were designed to be compact, light, unobtrusive, and intelligible while still delivering powerful and loud audio. The company is boasting that the speakers are a perfect fit for applications where an efficient architectural solution is required.
The KH4, a self-powered two-way line array speaker, is part of the range designed for medium to large-scale live performances. It is also aimed at satisfying the needs of users by incorporating power reserves that ensure high SPL and consistent, high quality audio. The company assures that, although it is a flat panel speaker, it is ideal for longer throw applications in large venues. Its is 16cm in depth and weighs only 47Kg, and can be used in conjunction with other K-array products, such as the KS4 self powered dipole subwoofer, which is 16cm in depth and weighs 37Kg.
The speaker’s vertical coverage pattern is between seven and 37 degrees, with a 120-degree horizontal coverage pattern. The transducers used in the KH4 mid/high packs and the KS4 subwoofer are controlled via internal DSP modules, while dedicated remote control software allows the user to control the speaker from a PC.
Other K-Array products include the ultra-slim Kobra Systems. Included in the range are the KK200 and KK50, ultra-thin three-dimensional array loudspeakers, which are 200 cm and 50cm in length, respectively.Article continues below
The Kobra Systems range also includes the miniature KT20, a two-inch point source compact speaker, the ultra-slim, the ultra-flat, three-dimensional KV50 array loudspeaker with multiple 1-inch full range drivers, and the KKS50, an ultra-slim line array bass speaker only 50cm long.
In addition to loudspeakers, K-Array also offers the KA range of lightweight, compact, amplifiers. The models were designed to be highly efficient power amplifiers that take up just one half of 2U rack space. The entire KA range is electronically protected and features optical limiters and a DSP on-board to drive all
K-array products, plus remote control via RS-485 and dedicated audio management software.
