KMR Audio pledges support to MPG Awards

KMR Audio has committed its support to the annual MPG (Music Producers Guild) Awards by agreeing a three-year deal to sponsor the International Recording Engineer of the Year category.

Now in its fifth year, the MPG Awards recognises the most talented and creative producers, engineers, mixers and mastering engineers in the industry. Meanwhile, KMR’s sponsorship of the International Recording Engineer of the Year category comes at a particularly relevant time for the company, with its soon-to-be-opened German branch set to further expand its international client base.

Commenting on the new agreement, KMR Audio managing director Keith Malin said: “We are very happy to be sponsoring this award and with it, supporting the MPG in general. In our everyday business as Europe's number one supplier of professional audio equipment, we provide gear and advice to many of the best audio engineers on the planet. Their work is, by its very nature, international and this award highlights our international credentials.”

The MPG’s International Recording Engineer of the Year Award is open to all non-UK based engineers who have recorded or mixed all of the releases submitted as part of their nominations. In 2012, the award was won by Andrew Scheps who mainly works from Punkerpad West, his own studio in the USA, where he has mixed Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and many others.

Tony Platt, MPG Awards Group co-ordinator, said: “We are delighted that KMR has come on board as the official sponsor of the International recording Engineer of the Year Award, because it once more highlights the growing understanding and cooperation between the practitioners who use the creative tools of our industry and the manufacturers, distributors and dealers who invent, design and supply them.”
