A new v1.2 software update for the Line 6 StageScape M20d smart mixing system (pictured) is now available.
v1.2 provides intuitive Fader Views and all-new signal chain presets created by renowned live sound engineers, and allows users to switch between the stage-based mixing view (Stage View) and a more traditional fader-based view.
The new fader screens recreate the look and feel of a conventional mixer, and can be used to control channel and group levels, monitor sends, FX returns, and outputs. Fader View also lets users mix monitor sends on faders, and when singers need to hear reverb or delay on their vocals, master effects can now be sent to their monitors.
Fader View is available on the StageScape M20d display, along with the StageScape Remote iPad app, and it can also be used together with Stage View. It is now possible to set StageScape M20d to Stage View and an iPad to Fader View, and bank through faders simply by touching icons, for example.
“The StageScape M20d mixing paradigm continues to evolve with v1.2 software,” said Max Gutnik, vice president of products, Line 6. “Now musicians can choose the mixer view they are most comfortable with, and quickly dial in professional-caliber live sound thanks to presets designed by experienced touring artists.”
Line 6 has also introduced a number of new signal chain presets designed by A-list front-of-house engineers as part of the v1.2 update:
• Brad Madix (Rush) has come up with a complete set of rock presets, including kick, snare, bass, guitar, and vocals.
• Daniele Di Giovanni (James Brown, Ray Charles, Dave Grusin, Lee Ritenour, Mike Stern) has provided a stereo Jazz Piano preset, which was developed using the Earthworks Piano Mic System.
