Thursday 12th February saw the inaugural Music Producers’ Guild Awards ceremony, with 14 awards presented to producers and engineers that continue to make the British music scene a unique and exciting source of the world’s popular music output.With special awards going to Brian Eno (for innovation) and Bohemian Rhapsody producer, Chris Blair (who in fact enjoyed 12 number one hits in that year, 1975) and the producer of the year being Duffy’s man behind the board, Bernard Butler. (Duffy is pictured presenting Butler with the reinstated Brit award for Best producer, which was presented at the same time as the MPG award.)
