The nomination period for the 2014 MPG Awards 2014 is now open.
Due to take place at the Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel in London, on Thursday February 13th 2014, next year's awards will be split into 15 categories all related to music production, including UK Producer of the Year, International Producer of the Year, Breakthrough Producer of the Year and Outstanding Contribution to UK Music.
Now in its sixth year, the MPG Awards celebrate the achievements of the many talented professionals from across music recording, as well as the best of the industry’s up-and-comers. Previous winners include Paul Epworth, Al O’Connell, Plan B and Sir George Martin CBE, while the winner of the UK Producer of the Year automatically goes on to win a BRIT Award for Best Producer every year.
The nomination process, which runs until Monday 14th October, allows anyone to put forward the the name of any worthwhile recording professional for one of the awards. For the full list of categories, to make your nominations or to buy tickets, visit www.mpgawards.com.
MPG (Music Producers Guild) chairman Steve Levine said: “The Music Producers Guild Award brings those responsible for the creation of music loved around the world into the spotlight to give them the recognition they deserve. With a bigger venue and new categories, the MPG Awards 2014 is going to be the best yet and I would encourage everyone to make their nominations for one or all of the categories and then join us in February for a celebration of the very best of production talent.”
Laura Marling, Plan B, Mark Ronson, Jamie xx, Muse, Alex Kapranos (Franz Ferdinand), Jamie T, Dizzee Rascal, Florence Welch, Brian Eno and Calvin Harris have all attended the event in the past.
