Shure Distribution UK (SDUK) has announced an internal reorganisation at PLASA London 2013.
Three new Groups have been formed to directly serve the Retail, Pro Audio and Systems Integration sectors, which mirrors a structure already applied to product portfolio and customer segmentation.
The move is a result of Shure EMEA's recent decision to align its distribution practices uniformly across Europe. By rolling this concept out across the continent, Shure can ensure that service and support levels are consistent in each territory.
The sales function at SDUK is now accordingly structured into three divisions, reflecting the framework of the new distribution model. The Retail division, led by former field sales manager Anthony Short, supports the MI and consumer electronics markets, while the Pro Audio division looks after SDUK's rental, touring and broadcast-orientated customers, and is headed up by former applications and product planning manager Tuomo Tolonen. Duncan Savage – one of three new additions to te SDUK team – has been brought in to lead the Systems Group, which has been created to serve integrators and contractors working on major installations.
The policy and practice of each division is tailored to support the channel it represents. SDUK is supporting its partners further by offering enhanced technical training and, in the case of technologies such as Shure Axient Wireless or QSC’s Q-Sys platform, properly accredited training. With this, Shure aims to create a customer network that is fully qualified and equipped with the skills and knowledge to enable them to develop sales in their core markets.
"This change is essential to the continued and sustained growth not only of the brands we represent, but the success of our selected partners too,” said Peter James, Shure Distribution UK managing director. “Technology is advancing at a tremendous rate, and our products are becoming more complex in their features and capabilities. With an ever-expanding range of application and channel-specific products, it makes perfect sense to align our organisation accordingly, and deliver a similarly advanced support structure.”
