Celebrating its tenth edition, Prolight + Sound Shanghai attracted a record number of visitors to Shanghai New International Expo Centre on October 11th to 14th 2012.
Organised jointly by Messe Frankfurt and INTEX Shanghai, Prolight + Sound Shanghai attracted 20,039 visitors from 76 countries and regions, who viewed the latest pro audio, lighting, entertainment and event technology industry products, presented by 414 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions.
Commenting on the show’s successful development over the last ten years, Mr Evan Sha, general manager, Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) said: “Since our first edition in 2003, we have grown steadily over the years, but in the last few years we have seen the Chinese audio, lighting, entertainment and events industries expand dramatically due in part to large scale events in China and the government’s 12th Five-Year Plan. However, we are no longer just a fair that attracts Chinese buyers and exhibitors, we are one that major international brands with their high-quality products make sure they attend.”
Marc Vincent, president of Greater China, Sennheiser Electronic (Beijing) Co added: “China is an important market for us and visitors are asking more and more for high quality and durable products, which is the strength of Sennheiser. Prolight + Sound Shanghai is always a good opportunity to meet business partners and professional visitors from the east coast of China, South America and all around the world.”
Prolight + Sound Shanghai also enhanced its reputation for quality fringe and event programmes, covering the full industry spectrum from manufacturer to end-user. Among the fringe programmes was the Stage Art Design and Technology Forum, hosted by the China Association of Stage Art, Shanghai Scenography Association and Shanghai Multimedia Industry Association, which focused on the latest stage art and design developments.
Other events included the Lighting and Art Design in HD TV Production Seminar, where lighting engineers and directors from various Chinese TV stations shared their lighting and stage art knowledge. The Concert Sound Arena was home to the Audiocenter, Biema, Dus Audio, FS Audio, IBO, Turbosound, TW Audio, Lexon, VTC and ZSOUND brands and the Headphone Demonstration Corner – an audio experience area – featured the latest headphones from AKG, beyerdynamic, Klipsch and Superlux.
The next Prolight + Sound Shanghai will take place from October 10th to 2013. For more information, visit this website or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
