The Sunday Times yesterday announced its annual Rich List, with an array of high-profile names from the world of music, including Sir Paul McCartney, David Bowie and Simon Cowell among world’s wealthiest people.
Highest on the list from the music industry is South African record executive Clive Calder, who is widely known for co-founding the Zomba Group and its subsidiary Jive Records. With an estimated fortune of around £2.4 billion, he was placed at number 51 on the list.
Occupying number 124 on the list is Sir Paul McCartney, while music mogul Simon Cowell made 339th place. Other major UK stars to make the top 500 included Rolling Stones legends Sir Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, Ringo Starr and co-founder and chairman of Ministry of Sound Group Jamie Palumbo.
Furthermore, a separate list compiling the Richest Young People, unsurprisingly saw Adele make the top 20, while Cheryl Cole, Leona Lewis, Lilly Allen and Florence Welch made the top 50.
