Users of Yamaha’s PM5D, M7CL, LS9 consoles and DME series digital mixing engines are set to benefit from new updates to be introduced at PLASA 2012 for the Dante-MY16-AUD interface card that will allow the devices to control the head amps on the company’s new Rio i/o rackmount interfaces.
A key feature of Yamaha’s CL series of mixing consoles is the ability to control the head amps of the systems’ new Rio i/o rackmount interfaces. This facility will now be available to users of other Yamaha digital mixers as a result of the updated firmware of the Dante card and a new version of Audinate’s Dante Controller software.
“There are thousands of Yamaha digital consoles in use all over the world and the optional Dante-MY16-AUD interface card already gives them access to the Dante network,” said Nick Cook, European Marketing director, Commercial Audio. “The ability to now control the Rio i/o interfaces will add tremendous flexibility to our customers’ rental stocks.”
The head amp control is achieved via a new HA Remote tab in the Device View screen of Dante Controller, a Windows/Mac software application from Audinate, run on a laptop as part of the network.
The update will be available as a free download via Yamaha’s web site in the coming weeks and will be on demonstration at the company’s stand 1-F32 at PLASA 2012, which takes place at London’s Earl’s Court Exhibition Centre from 9th - 12th September.
